Dice Throne Tournament

Play as a single Dice Throne Hero for the entire tournament, trying to become the ultimate victor!

Each participant will play 3 games in swiss rounds to establish rankings, as each person will be in a Group of 4. After these 3 games, the leaderboard will be set. The top 8 players will then advance to the Single Elimination Stage.

Everyone is guaranteed to play at least 3 games, with the winner receiving an 8-Hero Battle Chest!

• Max participants: 32
• Prerequisites: Must have played at least 2 games of Dice Throne previously, but all skill levels welcome!

What to bring

Any 1 Hero that you will use for the entire tournament.

• No swapping Heroes between rounds!

Any previously released Dice Throne Hero is allowed, with the following exceptions:

• No Heroes from the original Dice Throne Season 1 (6-Hero box published by Mind Bottling Games)
• No Mythic Cards or Promo Cards

Event structure

Group Stage into a Top Cut Single Elimination Stage!

Group Stage

• 3 swiss rounds of 2-player games
• Pairings will be within groups of 4 players*
• 30 minutes per round; approximately 2 hours total for Group Stage

First Player will be determined with a die roll; highest value goes first.

* Depending on sign-ups, may be some groups with only 3 people. Each player in the group of 3 will receive an automatic win (so that each group will have a win/loss record of 3 rounds for all players).

Ties are allowed in group play.

Once time is called, play continues until both teams have completed an equal number of turns. Then the match ends immediately.

Players will let the judge or organizer know the result of the match, including how much Health was remaining for the winner.

Top 8 Cut

The Top Cut will be exactly 8 participants, so that there are no bye rounds in the Single Elimination Stage.

Depending on the number of participants, this Top-Cut will likely end up being the Top 1 or 2 players from each Group.

• All participants with a 3-0 record will advance.
• Most participants with a 2-1 should advance.
• Depending on the number of participants, we will have to go to tie-breakers of Health differential when determining who will advance to the next Stage.

Single Elimination Stage

If you’re out, you’re out!

Approximately 30 minutes per round.

Play until there is a final winner.

Ties will go to a Shootout

• Maintain current board state.
• Reset health to 50.
• Penalty Shootout: Each participant will get a single turn to deal as much damage as possible. A full turn will be taken (Upkeep, Income, Main Phase, ORP, DRP, Main Phase, Discard Phase.)
• The participant who has the most health after each player has had one turn is the winner.
• Any ties will continue the penalty shootout until a winner is determined.

How do I register?

Registration for the Dice Throne Tournament will be made through our event scheduling platform, Sched.

Registration opens to Patron ticket holders on February 13th and to Full Weekend, single-day, and Volunteer ticket holders on February 20th. You will receive emails in the lead-up to registration opening that will detail how to sign up for this and other events.
